US trade deficit shrinks in March
US trade deficit narrowed to a seasonally adjusted $40.44 billion, the Commerce Department said Wednesday, as imports fell faster than exports.
Exports of goods and services fell 0.9% while imports dropped 3.6%. Expectations were for a larger trade deficit of $41.50 billion.
